WOFIJ welcomes her Indian Guild membership

The World Federation of Intercultural Journalists (WOFIJ) thrilled to welcome it’s Indian guild and the first Asia member affiliation on board.

Join several colleagues from more than 194 nations in across the globe as together we build a respected professional body that can transcend national and regional biases to become a compelling voice, a trusted source of support and an indispensable resource for journalists worldwide reporting on Intercultural related issues”said WOFIJ President Mr. Daud Abdi Daud

The Indian Federation of Disaster and Intercultural Journalists (IFDIJ) is the first Asia affiliation joined WOFIJ since its establishment last year and leads by WOFIJ Asia Pacific Director Mr. Soumik Dutta who  is experienced in writing feature/ articles, research reports, and investigative reports on topics ranging from socio-cultural and environmental impact on ethnic communities caused by hydro power projects in the fragile Himalayas, to political reporting and purely feature stories like on the Karmapa issue, wherein he had the privilege to interview one of the Karmapa candidates and the Shamar Rinpoche.

However, now he is Chief News Correspondent – The United News of India, New Delhi www.uniindia.com and correspondent -India, for Hundred Reporters, Washington D.C, USA www.100r.org

He is also a freelancer, authored several articles and covered a variety of writing assignments for several news portals, national, regional and international publications like the HimalSouthasian magazine (Nepal).
